Carolyn - Care Giver and Manager of Scheduling, Invoicing, and Payroll

-
Served local church families of all ages through compassionate care
-
Worked several years as a nurses’ aid in a nursing home
Partly because of the geographical distance from family, I am drawn to show care for others in similar ways that I wish I could give to my own family members. I have always enjoyed serving others in a variety of ways, whether through a church congregation, school classrooms, nursing home, or through the encouragement of listening. It has been a blessing to see how God provides compassionate care to my own loved ones, and I’m blessed to be on the giving end with others.
When I’m not working, I love studying and preparing Bible study lessons for women. I also enjoy camping with my husband of 46 years, visiting my four children and 15 grandchildren, and serving through our church. Recent retirement has gifted me some treasured flexibility.

I have been married for 45 years. My wife Carolyn and I have four married children and fifteen grandchildren. I worship and serve through my local church and I enjoy yard work, camping, hunting, traveling, and golf. I especially enjoy time with my children and grandchildren all of whom live outside of Ohio.

-
Main caregiver for my mother, for 12 years, up until the time of her death
-
Front Desk Receptionist and Administrative Assistant for 18 years
-
Volunteered at Greene Memorial Hospital
The village of Cedarville has been my home since 1969 when I established my roots here as an 8th grader. After graduation I attended Moody Bible Institute following another year of college at Cedarville University. I married a local and Cedarville is where home continues to be for us. We bore, raised, and released six children who have now given us eleven grandchildren to love on. I have always had a love for those who have needed specialized care. My joy is found in making a difference in others lives. When I’m not working you may find me in my kitchen making a meal for two, four, six, or even eight! I also love enhancing my yard through gardening or sitting on our back porch with a cup of coffee and a friend.

Cared for elderly parents after their multiple surgeries, with my dad’s dementia, and on-going, current health needs of my mother
I am a Pennsylvania native, the oldest of four siblings, a diehard Penn State fan and the wife of a retired pastor. I’ve served with my husband Mark in six churches and lived in five states during 50 years of ministry. We are the parents of four married children who have blessed us with 15 grandchildren.
I’ve served in women’s ministry roles of speaking, teaching, and leadership capacities. My heart and hands reach for people and their needs. When I’m not working with people, you will find me at my piano, expressing and appreciating my love of music. My hobbies include knitting and sewing for my grandchildren.

Previously worked as a Registered Nurse in the state of Ohio for 5 years
I grew up in several areas of the country, from California to Maine. However, the cornfields of Ohio have been my home for many years now. During my time here I have become a nurse, a wife, and a mother to 3 kids.
Although I am not currently working as a registered nurse I am thankful for the opportunity at KimberlyCare to provide skillful companionship and compassionate care in this community.
When I’m not working or involved in some activity with family or friends you can find me immersed in a book, or in the middle of a house project that is always more involved than I ever thought it would be!

Private Client Care
For over 15 years as an in-home caregiver, I have enjoyed helping folks remain in the comfort of their own homes for as long as possible. I began by caring for dear neighbors, friends, and my own father for the last years of his life. My opportunities continued to grow by word of mouth in the Kansas community where we lived.

In 2022, my husband and I made a momentous move from our lifelong home to Xenia, Ohio, so that our granddaughter could live with us while attending a local university. Now, I am thrilled to be a part of the KimberlyCare team and to serve folks in this area!

I have been married to my husband for nearly 50 years, and we have 5 children and 19 grandchildren that all (but one) live out of state. That gives us plenty of places to visit! I also enjoy reading, gardening, and quilt-making.
